Every day you work hard making money for your boss, so you deserve those three hours in front of the “telly” each night to unwind.
Then you're up at 7 each morning to eat breakfast, read the paper, get the kids off to school and make your way to work.
Weekends are of course family & friends time. You need to spend some time with your partner and run the kids around to clubs and parties. Then of course you’ll want to enjoy Saturday night out with friends.
By the time Sunday evening comes around you need the usual three hours in front of the telly.
Now this may well not apply to you, but trust me, it does sound like the lives of most people who complain that they don't have any time to start a business.
Without radically changing your life you can easily find 12 hours a week to start your site search for some extra cash. Sure you're not going to build a new Starbucks or Microsoft in these newly found 12 hours a week but you will have made a start, which I have always maintained is of humongous importance (that start).
How? You cut your six evenings a week and three hours of television down to 4 evenings a week of just two rounds. That's 10 hours saved. By only recording the programs you really want to watch you could do your new work first then use your “telly time” as a reward.
You find another two hours by waking up an hour earlier at weekends, do you really need that lie in? Of course, with more stringent cuts you could find 25 to 30 hours a week to work on your favourite moneymaking project.
If after you’ve found this extra time you'll need to put it to good use. If you've got no idea, simply start by listing 50 ways you could make an extra £2000 (NGN500,000). Really push yourself to find 50 and you’ll probably find that one of the better ideas is one of the last ones you came up with.
Then choose the best and spend the next week of your newly found time to implement the idea. You'll find you'll have more energy, satisfaction and the “work” won’t seem like work as you know it. That sense of accomplishment you derive from literally bringing something to life gets addictive easily, trust me; it doesn't matter if you are making NGN500 or NGN500,000 for that matter.
So have a go at finding that extra time and start making some real cash.
Until the next time ...
George
